Signing in with Apple

Choose Continue with Apple and use the same Apple Account each time to return to your collection. Hide My Email works with Shings; you do not need to share your personal email address.

If sign-in does not complete, check your internet connection and try again. If your collection or display name still looks wrong, contact support before creating another account.

Shings uses universal links. With the app installed, an ownership link can open the invitation in Shings. Without the app, the link opens its website preview.

After installing Shings and signing in, reopen the original invitation link from Messages, Mail or the app where it was sent. If it stays in the browser, touch and hold the link and choose to open it in Shings when that option is available.

An invitation may no longer be available if it has expired, was cancelled or has already been accepted. Ask the person who shared it to check its status. Opening a link alone does not accept ownership.

Adding photos

Photos are optional. You can select up to five photos using the system picker, or take a picture after allowing camera access. The first photo is the cover.

Selected photos may take a moment to prepare, especially if they first need to download from iCloud. They are uploaded when you submit the Shing or save its photos. To change camera access, open your iPhone’s Settings, find Shings and update its permissions. You can still use Shings without camera access.

Ownership is updating

When an ownership action is saved by Shings, the app updates its details. Recording that change on the public network continues in the background. An Updating ownership indicator shows that recording is still in progress; you do not need to keep the app open.

If an action reports an error, check your connection and use the app’s retry option when offered. If an update remains pending, contact support with the Shing’s name, the action and roughly when it happened. Avoid repeating an action just because background recording is taking longer.

Receiving notifications

Notifications are optional. Once allowed, updates about your Shings are sent automatically, including invitations being accepted, ownership being sent back and requests to return ownership. You do not need to enable them separately for each Shing.

Check Settings → Notifications → Shings on your iPhone to allow notifications and choose where alerts appear. Focus modes, notification summaries and other iPhone settings can affect when you see an alert. You can always open Shings to check the latest ownership details. Archived Shings do not generate new notifications.

Archiving and your account

The original creator can archive a Shing after recovering its full ownership. Archived Shings appear in Settings → Archived Shings, where their photos and ownership history stay saved.

Archiving a Shing is different from deleting your account. It does not erase your account or existing public ownership records. Signing out does not delete your account either. To delete your account, open Settings → Delete account. First archive every Shing you created and send back all ownership received from others. The app lists any Shings that need attention. Once confirmed, deletion signs you out and continues in the background, removing your profile, photos and private app data and revoking Sign in with Apple. Public ownership records remain. The app can show when cleanup is complete. For help, email socaciu.victor@gmail.com. Our privacy notice explains what information is stored, shared and retained.

Still need a hand?

Email socaciu.victor@gmail.com with your app version, iPhone model, iOS version and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot can help; remove anything you do not want to share.

Never send your Apple password, sign-in codes or recovery credentials. Invitation links can give access to a Shing, so share them only with the people you intend.
